Personal Growth
Psychology of Change
Often times we may have the great job and a high pay cheque but still we feel terrible inside. People who have this lifestyle may still struggle with their own belief. You can have a so called great employment and have a pain in your guts that tears you apart. Some jobs cause people nervous break downs and all kinds of health problems because of the constant fight to survive. You may feel like nothing you do is good enough or have such a terrible boss that every day is hell.
Building your self esteem out of this environment may take great change for you and sometimes it takes a leap of faith. What often happens is you need to make a complete change out of a so called safe environment (the great job) into another line of work, meaning new career. In this endeavor we may begin to rebuild our self worth and have a sense of value to others. How many work places give the employee a sense of nothing, meaning what they do does not matter to anyone and this leads into other aspects of their life?
Rob Williams came from a corporate environment and basically did just that by making a complete change and from there he developed PSYCH-K which is a simple and direct way to change self-limiting beliefs at the subconscious level of the mind, where nearly all human behavior originates, both constructive and destructive. Its overall goal is to accelerate individual and global spiritual evolution by aligning subconscious beliefs with conscious wisdom from the worlds great spiritual and intellectual traditions.
Rob Williams has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Masters Degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Colorado. He is President of The Myrddin Corporation, and Director of the PSYCH-K Centre International. Rob’s life-long exploration of human potential, combined with his background in marketing, advertising, business management — and 14 years in private practice as a psychotherapist — provides a practical, results-oriented approach to personal change.
In this initial video Rob talks about our beliefs and how everything we see is filtered by them. He explains in detail how Perception is Awareness Shaped by Belief.
Beliefs “control” perception
Rewrite beliefs and you rewrite perception
Rewrite perception and you rewrite genes and behavior
Definition of Beliefs

and many other things.
Growth vs. Protection
What prevents us from living a life of joy and expectations?
We have Growth vs. Protection
Growing up we either have I can messages as a child. If your parents told you that you were wonderful and can do anything then most likely you will be living those teachings by having a very good life today. On the other end if you were told “I can’t’” messages as a child with carries a instruction of inferiority and weakness then this is the life you may have today. Children really have their whole shaped by the time they are 6 years old and this is what is carried to adult hood.
Our child hood program set us for life by the time we reach 6 which are behaviors and habits.
Self-Reinforcing Cycle
-Experiences Shape Perception
-Perception Creates Belief
-Beliefs Reinforce Perception
-Perception Shapes Experience
-Experience Reinforces Beliefs
etc, etc,
To Break the Cycle by rewriting the software in your mind, you can change the printout of your experience. If you can change how you perceive the environment or how you see yourself in the environment you can change your environment. You’ll be treated differently the instant your treat yourself differently.
You have two Minds
You have tried to change your mind like promising to get in shape or quit smoking but your mind has a mind of its own.
Conscious Mind
-Volitional – Sets Goals and Judges
-Results – Likes to try new Things
Subconscious Mind
-Habitual- Monitors Operations of the Body — Motor Functions, Heart Rate, Digestion and it prefers the Familiar.
Conscious mind is responsible for short term memory – 20 sec
Subconscious mind takes care of long term memory – walking, dressing, and learned habits.
Subconscious Rules
The subconscious mind has the ability to do things like driving the car and other skills as it deals with the present. The conscious mind lives in the past and the future like remembering the past and fearing the future. Conscious mind can process only two or three events at one time so about 2,000 bits if information per second. The subconscious mind can process thousands of events simultaneously and averages about 4 billion bits of information per second.
While talking to someone your subconscious mind controls all your body functions, controls your motor functions as you walk along keeping you uprights and balanced all without you having a single conscious thought about it.
It’s easier to change habits of thought and behavior of you access the Subconscious Mind, because it is the store-house for attitudes, values etc, etc. We can perform many things to help us towards an improved self-esteem but this change can truly be effective when we can access the subconscious mind which stores all our beliefs.
An easy and effective way to communicate with the subconscious mind is with muscle testing, because the subconscious controls motor functions such as muscle movement.
Communicating with the Subconscious
With muscle testing your body will respond with strength when you are asked a question and she answers with a truthful answer. If you don’t tell the truth the body will respond with weakness. Stresses will affect you but this is a indication with someone helping you performing this test and with some questions what may be affecting you subconsciously and you most likely have no idea.
During this video Rob has the audience perform this muscle test on each other however he makes a key point in his demonstration. During his previous trial he discovered that the eye position was critical because it had very serious impact on how the subject received their own statement. If the subject was casting their eyes about randomly and with no focus then their truth or non truth statement did not have the impact is should have so he identified that if the subjects eyes were focused on the ground in front of them this would allow the body and subconscious to respond accordingly.
Communicating with the Subconscious
Generally the head has to be up and then the eyes are cast down. This is not perfect as people may test strong for everything or weak for everything but there is corrections that can be done .
We have 2 Hemispheres in the brain as left is logic, word, parts, Right Brain is emotions, pictures, spontaneous. Key point is that “The Mind is not the Brain” it’s energy work. M is energy that interpenetrates the brain and body and the brain is the gray matter inside your cranium.
Myths and Facts about Changing Beliefs. If you’ve had a limiting belief for a long time it will take a long time to change it.
Fact: Most of the time, changing subconscious beliefs is like changing a document in a computer. It doesn’t’ take any longer to change a document that has been in your computer for 30 years than it does one that has been there for 30 minutes.
Myths about changing Beliefs.
People carry limiting and often crippling beliefs their entire life.
Myth # 2 : Changing old behaviors and thought patterns is difficult and often painful.
Fact: Thought patterns and behaviors are caused by perception (beliefs). Beliefs are represented by specific configurations of photons of light held in an electromagnetic field. Change the field and you change the belief. Change the belief and you change the behavior or thought pattern.
Something to make note of is change may only occurs is someone really wants to make it. People will indentify or develop such a strong connection to their story that they may not want to let it go. Some would rather carry a crippling behavior to their grave to prove how much they own it. This happens in often in relationships as we move from one to another with repeated patterns of destruction.
Myth # 3: You need to consciously know what caused the problem in order to change it.
Fact: Becoming consciously aware of the source of the problem is seldom necessary to change most beliefs or behavior when dealing with the subconscious mind.

Testing our Subconscious for Positive Beliefs
We may be giving affirmations which are very supporting however without even know our subconscious mind does not support this affirmations. We all have desires for better things and it’s important to discover whether we really will allow this. Since our perceptions controls our beliefs and this is in our subconscious then by asking simple questions can determine where our limits are and work to improve them.
Most importantly are you deserving of all the good things you desire and most importantly when they benefit other people as well. Find what is holding you back because have a great self image with confidence and grace is what everyone should have.
